Google Pixel Watch- Not Coming Out In 2018
Rumors have been going around about the Google Pixel Watch coming out mid or late 2018. This had a lot of smartwatch enthusiasts hyped up and excited for the watch. Well, as it turns out, it seems that we won’t be seeing the Google Pixel Watch this year after all.
“Google Isn’t There Yet”
Miles Barr, director of engineering for Google’s Wear OS said that they won’t be releasing a Pixel Watch in 2018. He said this during an interview with Tom’s Guide.
“To think of a one-size-fits-all watch, I don’t think we’re there yet,” as said by Miles Barr. He also went on to say that their focus is currently on their partners. All of this was confirmed by Google; they won’t be releasing a smartwatch this year.
What We Expect
There have only been rumors about this watch, so everything written below is in no way “official.” These are all based on current information available (which isn’t a lot), as well as my personal opinions. With that being said, here are some of the things we expect about the Google Pixel Watch.
The Google Pixel Watch will most probably run on Wear OS. With that said, Google is also trying to address some of the issues they have seen in Wear OS Apps. One of these issues is support for different watch screen shapes.
I do expect a lot of premium features from the Pixel Watch. It should have Bluetooth, GPS, NFC and other great features that the current flagship smartwatches have.
Of course, don’t forget about Google Assistant, which is one of the most important features in current Wear OS Smartwatches. Google has made a lot of improvements to Google Assistant this year, and it is in a lot of Wear OS Smartwatches. So it would only seem logical for the the Google Pixel Watch to have this feature.
On the other hand, with all the premium features, I guess I can’t expect the battery life to last very long. Of course I can’t be 100% sure about this.
The Look, and The Feel
Unlike the Apple Watch Series 4, there have been no leaked images of the Google Pixel Watch. So it is quite difficult to imagine what the Pixel Watch is going to look like. We really have no idea whether it will have a round or square shaped body.
I personally expect the Google Pixel Watch to be thin and comfortable on the wrist. The display should be top notch, with eye-popping colous. Like most smartwatches, the straps should be replaceable as well. Maybe it will also come with more than one size.
These are just my personal expectations, and I do expect the Google Pixel Watch to look beautiful.

As previously written, the only thing we’re sure about the release date is that it won’t be in 2018. Maybe it will be available for users in 2019, or maybe the year after that, or 5 years later. What if Google never releases a Pixel Watch? Who knows? We can only hope for the best.
This is just about everything we have about the Google Pixel Watch. We will post updates when more information is available about this, so stay tuned. In the meantime, there are still plenty of great smartwatches out there if you plan on buying one.
